Kong quickly backflipped off the building as the beam slammed into it. he landed on the ground behind Zilla, and grabbed him by the tail. With a mighty heave Kong tossed him into the remains of the nearest building.

The impact hurt Zilla, his ribs aching after the attack, however despite this he fired his breath weapon again while still on the ground.

Kong saw the spines crackle before the blast and grabbed a nearby chunk of girdle and concrete from a building, holding it in front of him to absorb the blast. He walked forward, slowly, due to the force of the attack, the piece of building taking the damage and slowliy vaporizing away.

Zilla continued flaming only to slow Kong down long enough to get back to his feet. Once upright he leapt at Kong, crashing through the remnants of his makeshift shield and planting both feet in his chest.

Kong growled angrily as he was pushed on the ground by Zilla, the debris from the shield crashing all over him. With a roar of primal fury, Kong grabbed Zilla's ankles, one in each hand, and violently pulled them away from each other with his long arm reach.

The bones in Zilla’s ankles threatened to break as the primate pulled on them. Rather than risk crippling himself, Zilla Fored his breath weapon upwards, the atomic breath shredding through a skyscraper above them, bringing down an avalanche of debris on them both. In moments they would both be covered. With any luck Kong Kong would be forced to release his grip if he wished to protect his head and face from taking the majority of the damage.

Kong looked up at the falling building, roaring in rage. He lt go of Zillas ankles and kicked furiously upwards with his feet, tossing Zilla into the air as the building came down. In the mean time he got to his fett and curled into a ball, coveri his head and neck as the rest of the building slammed on him.

Zilla landed hard, his bones creaking as he demolished the side of a building. Debris rained around him and new cuts apeared to open up. In the last few moments more damage had been done than in either of the previous fights that had happened in the Big Apple and it had left both he and Kong covered by rubble.

The debris from the buildings collapse thundered around the shelter. The monsters were dangerously close now. The people in the shelter could actually hear Kong's ragged breaths.
Aside from that, all was quiet.

Ann cringed, and almost shivered as she heard the cries of the monsters. It wasn't safe here anymore, and a hatch was opened up to start sending the masses underground.

The mountain of rubble remained unchanged save for a few pieces of debris settling in place. For some reason Zilla had not yet reemerged…

AFter several long minutes, the sound of concrete on concrete echoed across the city, as Kong's arms emerged, pulling his body out shortly afterward. He was battered, bloody, and bruised, but he was alive. Looking around for any sign of Zilla, he saw none, and let out a furious roar into the early morning sky.

Suddenly the mound of rubble that had covered Zilla caved in, a massive hole consuming the wreckage. All seemed calm for a moment until Zilla struck. He had burrowed out from the debris, reemerged about a block away. Leaping to the top of a skyscraper he had pushed off the top, his powerful leap sending him towards Kong’s back. As he hit, his mouth open, he chomped down, clasping onto the area between the primate’s shoulder and neck.

Kong roared in pain as he was thrown onto the ground by the powerful blow. This was a nasty situation; in almost any other Kong could grapple the beast off him, but not now. Zillas jaws dug deeper into Kongs flesh, the pain giving him the energy to force himself onto his four feet. With a fluid motion, he reached back with both arms, grabbed Zilla by the neck, and flipped him over him, slamming the reptile into the ground on its back, one of it's flailing arms smashing open a wall of the shelter with it's claws. Most of the flesh that had been in Zillas mouth still was, and the wound was bleeding profusely on Kongs shoulder. With another roar of rage, Kong slammed his fists, one after the other, into the fallen kaiju's ribs.

Ann let out a sharp scream when the wall before her came tumbling down, some rubble caving in from the roof to bury unsuspecting civilians.
