New York City, 10:30 AM
Ann Darrow walked the streets alone, as usual, on her way back to her small apartment. Despite her popularity on stage, the life of a thespian was still tough, especially nowadays, what with movie renditions of plays, DVD's and televisions. Still, she made enough to get by, and that was good enough for her. But deep down, she felt a cold premonition, of something both fantastic and terrible.

New York City, 10:30 PM
It was a lax day for Ann. Stay home, chat with some friends on the phone, watch some movies and eat a salad. The day passed by with little struggles on her side save what seemed to be a kaiju battle further up North. But right now, she was too tired to feel disrought, as she jumped out of the shower and into pajamas, preparing for bed.

Kong long ago was confused by the change in temperature, when he thought he was surely headed in the right direction. The darkness of the sky and fog in the harbor kept him blind about where he was exactly, but the fog itself reminded him of home. Eager to be back Kong waded quickly up to the shore... only to be confronted by a concrete and steel jungle. His eyes were wide, his mouth agape as he looked around. This...was not home.
Enraged, Kong slammed both of his fists into the cement, crushing in. He let out a primal scream of fury into the night, and lept out of sight.

Sirens blared through the city. Ann woke up with a jolt as she rubbed her eyes to red blaring lights outside her apartment windows.
"What.. another monster..?"

Kong was annoyed by the red sirens that were placed every thousand feet throughout the city. Grabbing a building and wrapping his arm around it, he swung around, smashing a siren with his feet. he continued this rampage for several sirens, until a large area was clear of them. He climbed a building that was tall even to him, and beat his chest while roaring, challenging this new world to give him the best it had.

Ann nearly stumbled onto her back as she put on decent clothes and rushed out the door, as people poured from their apartment rooms to head for the nearest shelter. The monster was still far from their location, and they hoped it would remain that way.

Not far away another heard Kong’s cry. Spikes pierced the water’s surface like Death’s scythe and a massive tail soon followed, whip-like as it moved gracefully through the ocean. Having recovered form its previous injuries and still filled with rage that it had been denied a proper battle, the creature was pleased to hear that another had dare enter his territory. These were his home. This time the intruder would pay dearly.
Leaping from the water, the mass of muscles and scales landed on the bridge it had jumped from a few hours past. Stomping forward into the city it swiftly maneuvered through the maze of buildings, gracefully slipping around them despite its size. Sniffing the air it knew the intruder was not far away. Rearing back Zilla released a primal, rage filled roar, issuing a challenge to whatever lay nearby.

Kong whipped his head around in the direction of the roar and growled, baring his teeth. The roar was definatley saurian, most likely the defender of this territory. Kong's specialty. If Kong proved his supremacy here, he would make this his territory.
With almost glee, Konng lept of the tall building, landing on all fours, caving in the ground slightly. He saw down the darkened streets his opponent, and let out a roar as he dashed, then lept into the air, aiming to tackle the creature to the ground.

Zilla saw his enemy in the distance and snorted. It was unlike those he had faced since his reawakening. Seeing the beast barreling towards him he quickly deduced that it was no doubt attempting to latch onto him the way the tentacle beast from earlier had, to tackle him. Unwilling to fall for the same trick twice he leapt, his almost spring loaded jump sending him on a collision course with the ape as his teeth snapped and his claws slashed wildly.

Meanwhile, the group Ann followed made its way through the streets and towards the opposite direction of the congregation of monsters. Secretly, Ann wondered what new horrors were plaguing the city this time as she went with the flow.

Kong and Zilla collided in the air, the impact winding Kong a bit, but not disorienting him. With a quick motion, he slapped his hands over Zilla's mouth, using his strength to keep the jaws shut, while he rolled onto his back and kicked Zilla in the ribs, tossing him backwards.

Zilla landed hard, the force of the crash decimating a building. Scrambling to regain his vertical base, Zilla rushed Kong, his head low as he used his skull to bash his foe.

Kong took the blow in the stomach, but used the force of Zillas own attack against him, by bringing both fists down with the bendong of his abdomen, hammerfisting Zilla on either side of his spines.

Zilla felt a shock of pain run through his body. Backing away he roared awaiting his foe’s next move. Thus far the two had tested each other slightly. Soon, the battle would become a war.

Kong grunted and stared right back at Zilla. This would end now, he decided, as he charged Zilla once again, putting a hand over each jaw. Standing in front of the reptile, Kong began to push, one jaw up, one jaw down.
