Description:
The Jalthoos resemble massive scorpions though there are numerous differences. The first is that the head is located atop the large tail as oppose to in the front, inbetween the two pincers. On either side of the massive insects are large tentacles which end in a pair of hungry jaws. The most notable difference is that the entire top of the main body resembles a large set of jaws. Protruding from this set of jaws, though it is retractable, is a large probiscus. There is still a set of jaws inbetween the pincers.
Armor:
The Jalthoos carry no armor other than their incredibly thick exoskeletons. They can, however, project an organic shield which protects the head, tail - or neck considering the head sits on top of it - and the large mouth built into the body. The shields a rather hearty, though sustained fire will shatter them temporarily. Their natural exoskeletons can shrug off all infantry weaponry with not even a scratch. Heavier attacks such as missiles and bombs, however, are enough to damage these behemoths.
Armaments:
-From the tiny head, the Jalthoos can fire a fine, orange thread beam. The Jalthoos primarily uses this to burn airborne enemies out of the sky, though it can be used to sweep across enemy infantry lines.
-The mouths on the ends of the Jalthoos tentacles can release a concentrated plasma orb, or convert the attack into a flamethrower instead.
-From the mouth inbetween the large pincers, the Jalthoos can release a plasma orb which actually rolls along the ground. Explosive, after striking a target and detonating the plasma orb will release a surge of electrical energy.
-The Jalthoos' pincers can release the same attacks as the mouths on the ends of the tentacles, though they are far more concentrated in accordance with the size.
-The Jalthoos' main weapon and reason for its existance is the mouth built into their bodies. The Jalthoos can reason massive blasts of concentrated energy, volleying them miles away. Upon reaching their target, the blasts detonate into a burning blaze, releasing an extremely powerful shockwave capable of crumbling buildings. Should the Jalthoos be struck in the mouth will firing these attacks, they will overload and explode.
-The Jalthoos are capable of surviving underwater without oxygen, as well as using all of their attacks.
Equipment:
-The Jalthoos is gifted with remarkable eyesight. Using their keen eyes, they can volley their artillery attacks with pinpoint accuracy, striking targets miles away. Additionally, the Jalthoos can fire their artillery solely on coordinates. Even then, their aim is impeccable.
Production History:
The Jalthoos were intrical units in Angelenis' first campaign where she used the lumbering insectoids to bombard enemy installations. With their massive size, just the sight of these leviathans was generally enough to prompt civilizations to surrender or join Angelenis.
Upon Angelenis' defeat, the Jalthoos along with the others were all destroyed. Now, Angelenis has ressurected these behemoths. She looks forward to see how they will fare in this new era where they will surely come to be quite helpful.
