The following is a transcript of a report published online by D.R.A.C.O. founder and head researcher Alan Drake concerning the New York incident
Dragon Watch Info-Net
Though the military is tight lipped about the information concerning this recent “attack” it appears that Zilla was drawn to the area by mutant crustaceans of some kind, most likely the result of the plasma reactor installed off the coast some 20 odd years ago. Though I haven’t actually found anything to test, it is quite clear from my inside sources that the remains of several of these creatures have been found in and around the city. It is important to note that these were found after the battle between the mech and Zilla.
The military has no doubt come to the same conclusion I have and realize that Zilla is still very close. He is laying a trap because he was challenged. Had they allowed him to leave undisturbed damage would have been significantly lower than the already low numbers being reported. If they cease to attempt a confrontation he will leave the area. Unfortunately they aren’t taking into account the fact that he feels a challenge has been issued, that his territory has been invaded, or that he was unjustly attacked.
I know that should they persist in harassing him, Zilla will retaliate resulting in more damage and high casualty statistics. I’m continuing to try and convince the military and government officials that by ignoring him they will actually save more lives, but I have little doubt my pleas will fall on deaf ears. My guess is that the company responsible for the mech has so many officials in their pockets that they will push forward to kill Zilla, a task that they may find easier to say than actually do.
I’ll try to keep you posted.
