Dr. Alan Drake sat reading over paperwork scattered about his desk. Multiple computers printed out more information while others displayed webcasts of the battle that was taking place. Instead of leaving the area Zilla had remained, probably intending to do so only until his wounds healed. When the giant ape had arrived all hell broke loose as the city suffered more damage then it had previously. Rumor had it the repair bill for this would topple the record set by the iguana creature that had attacked in the 90’s.
“About this gorilla guy, we have only a few notes, nothing we can definitively say since we can’t observe him in person, but what should we call him? I mean we don’t know how he got to be what he is. It’s a fair bet we can rule out radiation or chemicals since he lacks any noticeable mutations, of course we still have to run tests to be sure. Currently I have him marked as Monster X or with a question mark, but we are going to need something more.”

Jack was eating a slice of pizza, pacing the room. He returned to Alan's side and looked over the monitors.
"X is no good for a monster...Hmm...why don't you call him....Kong? After the legend of that god, the one of the giant thing that was neither beast nor man. Because he dosen't look like a beast, but not like a man either, let me tell you."

“Kong huh? Interesting. Works for me,” he said as he wrote a new label.
“So what do you think of this Kong? From the looks of it he sure as hell gave our boy a run for his money.”

Jack nodded as he sat in a chair backwards to watch the feed.
"From what I can tell, this guy's a veteran." he said, hitting a key aand pausing the feed. Pointing to the screen, he pointed out the various scars and wounds on Kong's body.
"And if I'm not mistaken, he's fought things like Zilla before. I mean, think about it. During the fight, he almost expected everything Zilla had to throw at him except for the breath weapon. So we know that it comes from a place with at least one, but probably a lot more, reptilian or saurian kaiju."

Moving his glasses upwards Alan nodded.
“Your right. The picture quality wasn’t the greatest, but from what I could tell he looked like he had quite a few scars. No idea where he came from, but wherever it is, I don’t think it will be popping up on a Carnival Cruise anytime soon. It sounds like just the kind of place we could get enough research to get several grants. The funding would be great, but whatever is there, I’m more interested in this Kong. I mean, what brought him here? And more importantly, how did he and Zilla fair in the end of that? I mean if either survived, they both have to be near dead. Imagine if the military finds them in a weakened state.”

Jack nodded.
"Once Kong and Zilla are safe, I'll do some research into where Kong came from. But right now, we have to do somthing...but what can we possibly do? And what is Kong doing now? Jack pointed to the monitor, where Kong has finally made it to his feet, and was now examining somthing in his hand.

“I’m not sure. We could take the other van and…” Alan stared at the screen in amazement.
“Is, is that a person? Is Kong holding someone?” he asked in surprise.

Jack nodded.
"Oh boy...this isn't good..."

“No. No its not,” he said, “very, very bad.” Looking at Jack he continued.
“Destroying evacuated buildings is one thing. Targeting a single person is something else. Even if they would have spared him before, the military isn’t likely to hold any punches.”
