Background: Henry Gloval is decended from Russian immigrants to Cuba in the 1960's just after the Cuban Missil Crisis. He is fiercly proud of his Russian heritage and even though he's Cuban he has a Russian accent. He is also a highly decorated military officer and diplomat. He led the expedition to the crashed SDF-1 and supervised it's restoration. He also strongly beleived that SDF-1, a vessel of extraterrestrial origin was too fantastic a discovery to be kept as a purely Cuban weapon and preesured the government to enter the ship into the Terran Armada. The Cuban Government agreed and entered the ship into Armada. For his work on SDF-1, familiarity with the ship, and his excellent military record, he was made captain of the SDF-1.
