Somewhere between the orbit of Jupiter and the Asteroid Belt.....
Captain's Log, April 13, 2054
The maiden voyage of The SDF-1 Macross is going smoothly. Yesterday we left the Asteroid Belt behind and are on our way to Jupiter. Dr. Armando Vega, who joined this flight in the event that we encounter any space kaiju has grown bored and is starting to wish he had stayed on Earth due to the appearance of several kaiju recently. Thankfully, the ship's library has kept him occupied. The VF-1A's are proving themselves to be quite space capable, their testing proving the remarkable abilities of these craft however the test using the single Hunter Killer we brought proved just how ineffective those craft are in the vaccume of space. We will probably modify it and use it as an atmospheric probe on the gas giants we will encounter on this voyage. On Saturday, if all goes well, we will enter the Jovian system, relm of Jupiter, largest of the planets in this star system.- Captain Henry Gloval
